What does mandu mean?

Ningayya:

మందు అంటే ఇంగ్లీషులో medicine.

ဆေး ဆိုတာ အင်္ဂလိပ်လို medicine ကို ပြောတာ။

Mandu means medicine in English.

Rathiram:

అలాగా! మందు ఎవరికి? మీకా?

ဟုတ်လား! ဆေးက ဘယ်သူ့အတွက်လဲ။ ခင်ဗျား အတွက်လား။

ఈ మందు నాకు కాదు, మా బాబాయి గారికి.

ဒီ ဆေးက ကျနော့ အတွက် မဟုတ်ဘူး။ ကျနော်တို့  ဦးလေး အတွက်။

జ్వరం కాదు, కడుపులో నొప్పి. కడుపులో నొప్పికి ఈ మందు చాలా మంచిది.

အဖျား မဟုတ်ဘူး ။ ဗိုက်‌နာတာ။ ဗိုက်နာတာအတွက် ဒီဆေးက အရမ်း ကောင်းတယ်။

Not fever; stomachache. This medicine is very good for stomachache.

Rathiram:

అరుగో మాష్టరుగారు. నమస్కారమండీ!

ဟိုမှာ ဆရာ ။! နမစကားရမ်းပါ ဆရာ။

నమస్కారం. ఏమండీ నింగయ్యగారూ! ఎవరికి కడుపులో నెప్పి?

బాగుంది. అందరూ ఈ మందు తీసుకోండి.

సరే! ఇక పాఠం వినండి.

ကောင်းပြီ။ အခု သင်ခန်းစာကို နားထောင်ကြပါ။

ဆရာ။ ဆရာက ဘယ်မြို့ကလဲ။

మాది అమరావతి.

అది ఏ రాష్ట్రంలో ఉందండీ?

శివాలయం, బౌద్ధస్తూపం ఉన్నాయి.

ရှီဝါး ကျောင်းတော်နဲ့ ဗုဒ္ဓ ဆင်းတု‌တော်တွေ ရှိတယ်။

There are Siva temple and Buddhist Stupa.

Ratiram:

နောက်ထပ်ရော ဘာတွေ ရှိသေးလဲ။

మా ఊరు హర్యానాలో ఉంది.

ကျနော်တို့ မြို့က  ဟရ်ယာနာမှာ ရှိပါတယ်။

My (native) town is in Haryana.

Ramanarasimham:

అవును, మీరు హర్యానావారు కదూ! మీలో ఎంతమంది హర్యానా వాళ్ళు? ఎంతమంది కేరళవాళ్ళు? ఎంతమంది ఒరిస్సావాళ్ళు?

ဟုတ်တယ်၊ ဟရ်ယာနာသားတွေ လား။ မင်းတို့ ထဲမှာ ဟရ်ယာနာသား ဘယ်နှယောက်လဲ။ ကေရလသား ဘယ်နှယောက်လဲ။ ဥရစ်ဆာသား  ဘယ်နှယောက်လဲ။
